Patricia King: DIVINE PRAYER ASSIGNMENTS

By Dr. Linda Smith, Prayer Shield

With so much trouble in the world that needs prayer, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task.  God’s word tells us to pray without ceasing and I can see why.  Even praying 24 hours a day, I could not cover all the needs I see.

Recently I came into an enlarged revelation of the interaction of first, second and third heaven and the authority and dominion of believers in each.  You see, second heaven is not just a place of spiritual warfare where the principalities and powers of spiritual wickedness are active, but it is a place that has been restored to us as believers; restored through Jesus Christ.  How dare the wicked forces utilize the heavens, the ‘air’ to victimize the world!

Therefore, this is how I get my prayer assignments: I go boldly before the throne of grace. Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. This takes place in the third heaven.  As I commune with God, I ask to assist the kingdom in prayer and ask for my assignment(s).  “Father, what shall I pray about today that would assist and advance the kingdom purposes?”

Once I have downloaded the assignment(s), I pray into 2nd heaven, changing the atmosphere, and most importantly, taking dominion.  Sometimes I am assigned against particular demonic forces to bind, spoil and dispatch them to Jesus. Then I claim that ‘territory’ for the kingdom of God.

I noticed differences in results by doing this process.  Prior to this understanding, I would pray a good prayer about a situation, but over time, see little result.  One day I was driving past a triple x adult business and asked God why it hadn’t closed yet since I had been praying that for several years.  God said, “You’ve been praying from earth. Pray from a higher position.”  Aha!  I get it! I needed third heaven strategies applied in the second heaven!

So I went before the throne. “Father, I need mercy and grace to frustrate the forces over the adult sex trade industry.” As I communed with God, I was told how to pray.  I took that strategy to second heaven and began to apply it as God had instructed.  This time the strategy also included rescuing the people that worked in the trade.  I know I will see more results.

I believe this is the stronger position. I believe just as Jesus only did what He saw the Father do, that Jesus prayed the way Father said pray.

Do you have a situation over which you have prayed with less than satisfactory results?  Go before the throne to access new prayer strategies!  God bless you.

Patricia King: Hearing from God for Intercession by Dana Roman

Suddenly, I felt an urge to pray. In my spirit I saw the word suicide. It surely wasn’t me, but a strong anointing to pray for whoever it was came upon me. I began to take authority over the spirit of death, fear, rejection, hurt and bondage. I felt a warning like an alarm went off in my spirit and my prayer turned into travailing intercession. As I cried out to the Lord it felt as if I was birthing something very spiritual. Jeremiah 30:3-6 speaks of a prophetic word of restoration of finances and possessing the land. It seems the men were crying out like a woman in labor birthing in prayer a spiritual, divine intervention.

Paul prayed in the Spirit a lot and one day he said, “Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives” (Galatians 4:19 NLT). My travail lasted about forty-five minutes and then I felt the work of intercession had been completed. As always, I began praising and worshipping God for intervening on whoever wanted to commit suicide.

Several hours later my pastor friends called and said, “What were you doing at 9:00a.m.?” I told them what happened when I heard the word suicide, right at that time. They began thanking me and sharing that they both had been talking about driving their car right off the freeway overpass at that very moment. They were broke, out of a job, and so hurt and filled with fear and bondage from another minister who had been lying about them to a large amount of the body of Christ in their area. They both had decided that they wanted to die.

Within months our pastor friends had a nice house to live in, and started receiving a salary from a group of believers that wanted them to be their pastors.

God’s voice can come in many ways, but the key is we must listen and obey.

  • God’s voice can be heard when we read the Word of God.  The more of the Word of God we know, the more sensitive we are to hearing in the spirit realm.
  • The Lord may give you a word on a bill board, or even a knowing deep in your spirit like I had with the word suicide.
  • God speaks through all types of people, strangers, friends, family members, and not just your spiritual leaders.  Be sensitive to pain in people’s lives so you can pray for them, give them a scripture to encourage them or just a friendly smile and listening ear.
  • God sometimes uses unusual ways to speak to us. Job 37:5 says, He thunders with His voice. Deuteronomy 5:24 says, They heard the voice of Lord from the midst of the fire.

There are many more ways to hear from God but I ask these questions when I’m not sure if it is Him or not: Is what I am hearing something that was taught by a good or bad influence in my life? Is what I am hearing going to produce the fruit of the Spirit according to Galatians 5:22-25? Is God giving me this knowledge or is it something I already knew? Either way, how am I supposed to pray regarding what I am hearing? The Lord always has the right strategy for every prayer and every assignment that He gives.
